Moyola Park travelled to Scroggy Road in Limavady on Saturday to play Newtowne in the first round of the North West Craig Memorial Cup. Manager Mervyn Pattison had to reshuffle his defence by bringing in Waddell for the injured McQuillan.

The home side opened the scoring in the 32nd minute and they only held this lead for 7 minutes as Rafferty scored in the 39th minute to equalise and the visitors took the lead just before half time with McIlhatton scoring from the penalty spot.

Moyola came out firing on all cylinders for the second half and went further in front within two minutes with Rafferty scoring his second and two minutes later he scored again for his hat-trick and leaves him with an impressive total of 7 goals in his first 4 games in the blue of Moyola Park.

The scoring wasn’t over as McIlhatton scored his second in the 57th minute and in the 65th minute manager Mervyn Pattison made a triple change with Taggart, Black and McNamee replacing McIlhatton, Rafferty and Moore.

With fifteen minutes left Paul scored to make it 6-1 and on the final whistle McNamee scored to make the final score 7-1.

Moyola Park’s next game is on Saturday 17th September 2016 when they travel to Belfast to play Donegal Celtic in the Premier Intermediate League.
