Moyola Park travelled to Suffolk Road on Saturday to play Donegal Celtic in a NIFL Premier Intermediate League game. The visitors were on a good run of form and had won their previous 4 games and the home side had drew their previous game with Newry City.
The first chance of the game fell to the home side with a shot over in the 5th minute and a minute later Paul fired over for the visitors from 15 yards out. In the 10th minute Donegal Celtic had a shot past the post and a minute later Rafferty was brought down and the visitors awarded free kick, however the score line stayed 0-0. Both teams were working hard and looking for the opening goal and Hassan shot wide from 12 yards out in the 14th minute. With 16 minutes on the clock the visitors were putting pressure on the home defence and Hassan had 2 corners in quick succession and Harris fired a shot over from the latter one.
The visitors were awarded a free kick in the 19th minute and the home defence cleared and three minutes later Rafferty fired a free kick from 25 yards out straight into the wall. The home side came close to scoring in the 24th minute and two minutes later their keep punched clear following a corner. The home were side awarded a penalty in the 28th minute following a foul by Farniok and the visiting keeper redeemed himself by saving the resulting spot kick. With the first half coming to a close, Farniok saved a shot in the 32nd minute and three minutes later the home side headed over following a corner. With the game going from end to end the last action of the game was in the 40th minute when the home side cleared a corner.
The first chances of the second half fell to the visitors with both Rafferty and Beggs shooting over and minutes later Farniok made a great save from a DC corner. With the game midway through the second half, Hassan saw a free kick fumbled by the home keeper and a second free kick cleared by the home defence. The visitors opened the scoring in the 68th minute when Paul shot under the home keeper and a minute later Beggs nearly doubled the lead.
Paul doubled the visitors lead in the 70th minute and five minutes later the home side hit the cross bar. With the game continuing to be end to end the home side got a goal back in the 87th minute from a header by Monaghan and with a minute to go Donegal Celtic scored an equaliser from Rossborough.
