Moyola Park welcomed Banbridge Town to the Mill Meadow on Saturday looking to build on last week’s home win with Dundela. Moyola Park manager Mervyn Pattison had Mullan and Doey in the starting eleven instead of Rafferty and McAuley.

The chance of the game came in the 5th minute with Paul finding McIlhatton and he saw his shot saved by Cullen. The next chance came in the 10th minute with Downey shooting just over the bar from long range for the visitors. Four minutes later Clydesdale had a shot from a tight angle saved by Farniok’s feet and a minute later Downey shot over.

The visitors had a chance in the 22nd minute when Farniok saved from an Anderson header and from the resulting corner a header from Acheson across goal was knocked in at the back post by Downey. The visitors had Clydesdale booked in the 25th minute and a minute later a header from McIlhatton onto Paul saw his header cleared of the visitor’s goal line. Two minutes later McQuillan was booked for the home side following a challenge in the middle of the park.

The 32nd minute saw Paul shot just over from about 40 yards out and a minute later a shot from Beggs was saved by Cullen. The 36th minute saw the visitors double their lead when Farniok failed to punch clear and Moffatt made no mistake from close range.  The 40th minute saw Doey find Beggs and he saw his shot saved by Cullen and two minutes later Moffatt shot wide at the other end.

The first chance of the second half fell to the home side when Beggs saw his effort in the 51st minute saved by Cullen and a minute later King was through on goal towards Farniok but shot over. The 53rd minute saw a run by Beggs and subsequent shot blocked by Wilson in the visitors defence. The 57th minute saw Cullen save from Paul and a minute later the home side made their first change with Hassan replacing Mullan. The 60th minute saw King booked for a foul on Beggs and the 64th minute saw Forrest booked.

The visitors continued for push for a third which would surely secure the three points and Moffatt had a shot saved by Farniok in the 69th minute. The 71st minute saw a break from the home side and Beggs crossed the ball in which was left by McCann and an effort from Hassan looped over Cullen and was cleared from just under the bar and over for a corner. The visitors made their first change in the 73rd minute when Taggart replaced McCavitt.

A ball into the Moyola area was again not cleared and Clydesdale shot wide from close range. The 82nd minute saw a long range effort from Paul saved by Cullen.  The visitors made their final changes in the 85th minute with Devlin and McCreanor replacing Downey and King and a minute later Beggs was booked for the home side.

The 88th minute saw a cross from Hassam headed at Cullen by McIlhatton and Forrest had a long range shot wide in injury time and this was the last notable action of the game.
