After a shaky start the team turned it around to put in a good performance all around in the night. Goals from Ciaran (3), and a goal from Eoghan M. Super saves from an inspired Craig in goals were worth a few goals to us. Rhyley and Mark were solid at the back and Eoghan B & Conor ran all night in the middle of the park. Moyola Park 2007’s Coleraine
Moyola Park 2007’s (Sponsored by Henry Brothers Magherafelt) played Portstewart at the SSGC at Coleraine and played some fantastic football, attacking with intent and desire. The players used the ball intelligently and quickly to create lots of opportunities. Luke G opened the scoring, reacting the quickest to a goal kick. The scoring continued with a few more goals in the 1st half which were superbly worked from the left and right. Moyola added more in the 2nd half with the pick of the day being another sublime goal high into the top corner from Luke G. The most pleasing aspect of the day was the players thinking for themselves and working out how to break down the packed Portstewart back line. A real team effort, but man of the match was Luke G who played the striker role brilliantly, scoring and creating goals. Goals scored by Luke G (5), Niall(2), Jay(1) and Charlie(1).
Moyola Park Olympic 2007’s Coleraine
Moyola Park Olympic 2007’s (Sponsored by Henry Brothers Magherafelt) played Star United at the SSGC at Coleraine. The first half was a very even affair but Olympic found themselves two goals down. The team came out after the restart with a lot more determination and played some nice football at times. They quickly pulled one back through Daniel after some good link up play with Jack and with their tails up it wasn’t long until James got the equaliser after a great individual run. All credit to the boys, they fought hard to get back from two down today so they should be very pleased. Both teams had opportunities to win near the end but a draw is probably a fair result on the day. Man of the match today was James O’Neill, running the midfield and getting the all-important equaliser.
