Moyola under 13’s hosted the Ballyclare Coaching for Christ side on Saturday 22nd August 2009 in a game which saw a debut for Hutchinson. The visitors started strongly creating two early opportunities with Holmes (Jam) tackling well to clear and Mackle blocking on the edge of the penalty area. Ballyclare took the lead when their striker slotted home from a well placed pass. From the resulting restart Moyola pressed forward winning a corner from which Marshall found Kane on the back post. His low drive across the goal was turned in by Holmes (Jam). Moyola maintained their momentum and within minutes Evans brought the visiting keeper into action with two efforts from outside the penalty area. Midway through the half Moyola took a deserved lead when Evans came in from the right and chipped the keeper from 16rds. They continued to dominate the first period and could have increased their lead after Catterson was found in space on the edge of the area only for his shot to be well saved.

The second period saw Moyola make changes bringing on Fullerton, Woodward, Holmes (Jordan) & Sayer. The break enabled Ballyclare to regroup and they levelled early when a left wing cross sneaked in at the back post. Mackle kept the home side in the game with another fine save but could do little when the visitors scored from the penalty spot. Moyola now pressed for an equaliser with Hill and Cowden driving forward from defence and it was Cowden to which their best chance fell when he narrowly missed when he snapped onto a loose ball. With 5 minutes remaining the home side did get their reward for their perseverance. Another Marshall corner fell to Holmes (Jordan) on the edge of the area and his shot was blocked on the line but Cowden made no mistake from the rebound with a half volley from 6yards out.

TEAM: C Mackle, T Cowden, D Irvine, Jamie Holmes, K Hill, J Evans, C Peeples, J Marshall, A Henry, S Kane, T Fullerton, Jordan Holmes, R Gibson, M Hutchinson, D Catterson, J Sayer, R Woodward.
