Moyola lose at top of the table Coagh

Moyola made the short journey to Hagan Park on Saturday to take on top of the table Coagh United without captain Steven McQuillan and Andrew Moore who was injured.

The home had a chance in the 2nd minute to open the scoring when Dessi Loughrey awarded a penalty when McClean fouled Campbell however; Campbell stepped up and fired the ball well over the bar.  Four minutes later a ball found Clarke and he made no mistake and fired the ball past Maguire to open the scoring.  Moyola had a chance in the 13th minute when a cross from the right by McIlhatton found Johnston who hit his shot off the post.  Moyola pushed for an equaliser but could not find the finishing touch.  Coagh doubled their lead in the 20th minute when a corner from Ferguson sailed across the front of goal and rebounded in off the unfortunate Lucas.  Coagh continued to pile on the pressure with Campbell in the thick of the action but he failed to capitalise on some good chances.  Dessi Loughrey awarded the home side a second penalty in the 33rd minute when Whiteside was adjudged to have fouled Donaldson and this time Black stepped up and made no mistake and put the home side 3 up.  A minute later a cross from Campbell on the left found the unmarked Clarke and he stroked the ball into an empty net.  Just before half time Moyola had a goal disallowed for a push as McIlhatton rose high and headed in a corner from Crockett.

Moyola started the second half a bit brighter and following a foul on McFadden by Beckett, Hassan fired the resulting free kick just over.  The visitors made the first change in the game in the 50th minute with McIntyre replacing Johnston and five minutes later Holmes replaced McClean.  Coagh continued to press the visitors defence and Maguire made two saves in as many minutes from Donaldson and Clarke.  The home side scored their final goal in the 64th minute when Campbell hit a shot from the edge of the box in off the post.  Moyola made their final change a minute later with Doey replacing McIlhatton.  The home side made a treble substitution in the 71st minute with Scott, Hunter and Forrest replacing McGeown, Beckett and Dallas.  Two minutes later Crockett had a run at the home defence but fired his shot wide and in the 81st minute Lucas tried his luck from long range but also fired his shot wide.  The visitors got on the score sheet in the 82 minute when a cross from Hassan found McIntyre who fired the ball past Yorke.  Both teams had further chances towards the end of the game but could not add to the score line.

This was a poor performance by the visitors against a very good Coagh team who stay top of the league in their quest for the title.
