Moyola Park travelled to The Dub to take on Queens University in the Premier Intermediate League. Moyola were hoping to come home with the 3 points.

In the opening minutes it was a tight game and both teams cancelled out many chances. Half way through the first half, Moyola had a few chances to take the lead with chances from McQuillan and Mcwhirter but Queen’s keeper made a great save both times to keep the score line at 0-0. 5 minutes to half time, Moyola were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box and Rafferty stepped up to take it but the shot goes high and over the bar. 2 minutes after Moyola had a chance to score, Queens took the lead, Keenan took a shot which took a wicked deflection leaving Maybin with no chance to save it. The home side had the advantage going in at half time.

The home team came out in the second half the stronger side although Moyola had chances from Rafferty and McAllister but both chances went wide. On the 59th minute, Moyola made a substitute replacing McNamee with Moore. 20 minutes into the second half queens had a chance to extend to their lead to 2-0 but Moyola Park’s Maybin made a superb save to keep the score at 1-0. With 70 minutes gone, Queens player Friel took a shot at Maybin which ended up in the bottom left hand corner making the score 2-0 to the home side. Moyola didn’t have much chance of getting back into the game at this stage.

Moyola were starting to tire and Queens were dominating the game. With only 15 minutes left a mistake from Moyola’s defence lead to McDowell getting through and finished well making the score 3-0 to the home side, Queens were now controlling the game. The score line at the Dub finished Queens 3 Moyola 0.
